How to cancel your Marketplace plan

You may need to terminate your Marketplace plan if you obtain other health coverage or for other reasons.

IMPORTANT:

Do not terminate your Marketplace plan until you have confirmed the start date of your new coverage. Once your Marketplace coverage is canceled, re-enrollment will only be possible during the next annual Open Enrollment Period unless you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period.

If you are canceling coverage for everyone on your plan, your termination can be effective immediately or you can choose a future end date—such as when your new coverage begins at the start of the next month.

If you are canceling coverage for only some members of your plan, their coverage will generally end immediately. However, in certain situations, such as when remaining members qualify for a Special Enrollment Period, coverage may not terminate right away. To ensure accurate coverage termination, please contact the Marketplace Call Center to request the change.
